Tariff Application 2024/25

The National Ports Act, Act 12 of 2005 (“the Act”) read with Directive 22(1), as issued in terms of section 30(3) of the Act, requires the submission of a tariff application on the 1st of August annually or at such longer intervals as the National Ports Authority (“the Authority”) and the Ports Regulator of South Africa (“the Regulator”) may agree.

The Regulator took into consideration the circumstances set out in a letter submitted on the 24th of July 2023 by the Authority when it deliberated a requested extension of the Tariff Application submission date to by no later than 31 October 2023.

Consequently, the Regulator will allow the Authority, in terms of directive 22(1), an extension of one (1) month to submit its 2024/25 Tariff Application. The Regulator, therefore, expects the Authority’s submission of the Tariff Application for the 2024/25 Financial Year by 01 September 2023.
