The Ports Regulator of South Africa, in consultation with the National Ports Authority, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Transport, and various other government departments, have developed a Port Tariff Incentive Programme (PTIP) in support of beneficiation, industrialisation, and localisation through port tariff regulation.
Phase one of the PTIP has been the ‘process development’ in consultation with various stakeholders and departments. Phase two of the PTIP will include the development and finalisation of the information and data requirements, accreditation criteria, application forms, the verification guidelines, as well as other application specifics.
Interested parties are hereby invited to submit comments on the proposed programme, as well as provide input into phase two of the PTIP process. Your input may guide the Regulator in the development and finalisation of the tools required for the success of this programme.
All persons are invited to submit comments by 30 April 2017.
